The personal Part

I started making jewelry when I was 15. Not as a brand. Not as a business. For myself, for friends, for festivals — wherever I needed something that didn’t exist yet, I made it.

Then life moved on. The materials stayed in a box. I kept making things occasionally — privately, quietly — but never gave it a name or a system.

Nereid is what happened when that old frequency finally got transmitted. A creative side project that became something real.

One person. One archive. Everything made by hand in Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The System

Nereid is a living archive of materials that already had a life before they became jewelry.

Pearls formed in silence.
Shells shaped by water and erosion.
Gemstones carrying geological memory.
Steel that remembers nothing — but stays anyway.

Each piece is named after one of the fifty Nereids — sea nymphs from the Greek mythology. A system to organize something fluid, emotional, and natural.

Galatea is reflection. Dynamene is pressure. Proto is raw form. Thetis is transformation.

LAyering

Each piece is designed to exist alone — but never isolated.

Galatea softens structure. Dynamene adds weight. Psamathe brings memory. Proto introduces raw tension. Thetis transforms the balance. Each combination creates a different version of the wearer. Nothing here is perfect. Nothing here is fixed. All of it is real.

Strong alone. Stronger together.

Handmade – what that actually means

Every piece is assembled by hand. By one person. That means no two pieces are exactly identical (except of the steel, that does not remember anything).

Pearls vary in shape and color. Shells differ in texture. That’s not a flaw — that’s the material being honest.

Pieces are made in small batches or to order. When something is out of stock, it’s being made — not mass-produced.
